French(?) Onion Dip

IMG_7629.jpg

I needed something quick, easy and delicious for my son’s party.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 2 brown onions that have been chopped and “caramelised”
  • 1-2 teaspoons of garlic powder (don’t have an exact measurement here since I sprinkle to taste)

Mix all ingredients together, then allow it some time to chill in the fridge before serving. We served this up with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and crackers…. no one touched the celery :/

Now I’ll need to make a new batch of Mayo!

Edit: forgot to add this warning

WARNING: EXTREMELY MOREISH

  1. I used to do a cup of sour cream, half cup of mayo, one envelope of French’s onion soup and a handful of those French fried onion strings in a can. Some parsley or chive flakes. Haha. Nothing fresh, everything from a jar or envelope. Like puttanesca

    1. haha… i recall finding similar recipes when originally trying to make this… but I just didn’t have access to them here! i’m a fan of the mostly handmade authenticity of this one… i am biased though 😉
