Make Your Own!
I started making my own mayonnaise sometime last year and it’s hard to go back to store-bought now. After a few failed batches, I finally settled on what would be my go to recipe.
- 2 eggs
- 1 ¹/³ cups of cooking oil
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
This will make roughly 400-500ml worth of mayonnaise…. enough to fit into a squeezy bottle.
The question for you now is… how will you mix it?
Ideally, you’d want to use a blender that allows you to pour into an open lid while blending. The idea is slowly incorporating the oil into the rest of the mixture, not all at once. You could essentially mix with a whisk if you have the patience.
The only thing that I still use from Isagenix is their blender that came with the intro pack… and I only use it because of how much it cost me! It is a cheap piece of crap, but it still does the job… just with more difficulty. I pour about a third cup of oil into the container, screw it together, blend, unscrew, repeat. It takes patience and it gets messy, but after enough practice you can get the job done.
